Ecofix Scotland supplies, replaces and installs suitable commercial refrigeration equipment and systems within our current technical scope. Installation work begins with an assessment of the equipment, site conditions, electrical and other service requirements, access and the intended use before an estimate is prepared.

Installation & Replacement – At a Glance

Supply-and-install is the normal Ecofix Scotland model.

Customer-supplied equipment may be accepted by prior agreement as separately estimated installation-only work.

Suitable integral equipment, remote condensing systems, cold/freezer-room refrigeration, cellar cooling and other approved systems can be assessed.

New-installation electrical boundary is normally from a suitable local isolator to the equipment.

Installation dates are based on supplier availability and project requirements; no guaranteed date is implied unless expressly agreed in writing.

Commercial Refrigeration Installation Scope

Suitable installation and replacement work can include:

commercial refrigeration cabinets and appropriate integral equipment;

remote condensing units and suitable complete remote systems, subject to assessment where complex;

cold-room and freezer-room refrigeration equipment and suitable proprietary modular room projects;

suitable cellar cooling systems;

commercial ice machines within competence;

suitable multi-evaporator systems following technical assessment.

Supermarket-type central rack/pack refrigeration, CO2 / R744 systems and ammonia / R717 systems are outside the current advertised scope.

How an Installation Project Normally Proceeds

Initial enquiry and site/equipment information.

Assessment of the intended equipment, capacity, location, access and available services.

Selection or confirmation of suitable equipment and preparation of an estimate.

Customer authorisation and payment for ordered equipment, special-order components or significant project materials before supplier order where applicable.

Supplier order and confirmation of availability.

Indicative timescale followed by an estimated installation date when availability and project conditions are sufficiently known.

Installation, commissioning, testing and verification within the agreed scope.

Explanation of the completed work, relevant operating information and any outstanding limitations or recommendations.

Equipment Supply

Ecofix Scotland normally supplies the equipment we install. This gives better control of suitability, specification, supplier information, parts availability and responsibility for the agreed installation package.

Customer-supplied equipment may be accepted by prior agreement where the equipment is suitable and the installation can be safely and competently undertaken. This is treated as separately estimated installation-only work rather than the normal supply-and-install model.

Installation estimates are normally valid for 30 days, but supplier pricing and availability remain subject to change until equipment is ordered. Ordered equipment, special-order components and significant project materials are normally paid at the full selling price before the supplier order is placed.

Electrical Interface for New Installations

Ecofix Scotland may undertake electrical work associated with technical equipment where it falls within the engineer’s competence and authorised service scope. For new installations, the normal Ecofix Scotland boundary is from a suitable local electrical isolator to the equipment.

New electrical circuits, supply to the isolator and work requiring electrical installation certification are undertaken by an appropriately qualified electrician, either arranged by Ecofix Scotland where agreed or by the customer.

Refrigerant and Commissioning Considerations

Refrigerant-side work is undertaken only where the system, refrigerant and task fall within current competence and authorisation. Current scope includes appropriate work with R134a, R449A/R448A-type systems, R290, R600a, R32 and suitable A2L refrigerants.

Existing R404A installations are assessed according to their actual condition and the technically appropriate repair, retrofit or replacement choices rather than assuming one solution is correct for every system.

Work Not Automatically Included

An equipment installation estimate does not automatically include new building electrical circuits, supply to the local isolator, electrical installation certification, major structural alterations or other building/trade work outside the agreed technical equipment scope. Where another trade is required, this will be identified and may be arranged by Ecofix Scotland where agreed or by the customer.

Qualifications, Certification & Technical Scope

Ecofix Scotland’s Commercial Refrigeration work is supported by company F-Gas certification together with relevant individual F-Gas Category I and hydrocarbon refrigeration qualification evidence. Work is accepted only where the equipment, refrigerant, task, technical information, tools, competence and authorisation support it.

Service Area

Commercial Refrigeration is provided across Ecofix Scotland’s Zone 1 and Zone 2 service areas. Work outside Zones 1 and 2 may be accepted by prior agreement where commercially and operationally appropriate.

Can Ecofix Scotland supply the refrigeration equipment?

Yes. Supply-and-install is the normal model for commercial refrigeration installation work.

Can you install equipment I have already bought?

Potentially. Customer-supplied equipment is considered by prior agreement and, where suitable, is separately estimated as installation-only work.

Do you install the new electrical circuit?

The normal Ecofix Scotland boundary is from a suitable local isolator to the equipment. New circuits, supply to the isolator and certification are undertaken by an appropriately qualified electrician.

Can you guarantee an installation date when I accept the estimate?

Not automatically. An indicative timescale is provided first, followed by an estimated date when supplier availability and project conditions are sufficiently known. A guaranteed date only applies where expressly agreed in writing.

Can an existing R404A system be replaced with a different refrigerant/system?

Possibly, but the correct option depends on the existing equipment, condition, duty and technical feasibility. We assess the actual system before recommending repair, retrofit or replacement.
