Installation & Replacement

Ecofix installs suitable air-conditioning systems for homes and commercial premises.

Current installation scope focuses on:

wall-mounted split systems;

multi-split systems;

suitable ceiling cassette systems.

Every installation is assessed individually because equipment selection, pipework, electrical provision, condensate drainage and access all affect the work required.

Fault Diagnosis & Repairs

A description of the symptoms is useful, but it is not a diagnosis.

Ecofix follows an evidence-based process:

Reported symptom → inspection → testing → evidence → diagnosis → recommended next action

A repair estimate can then be prepared where further work is required.

Routine servicing helps maintain system condition and provides an opportunity to identify developing faults.

Ecofix provides:

single-split servicing;

identify the actual requirement or fault;

recommend work that is technically justified;

Ecofix does not currently market:

ducted AC installation;

VRF/VRV systems;

large chilled-water HVAC systems;

guaranteed 24/7 AC response;

unlimited commercial emergency cover.

Cold rooms, walk-in chillers and suitable refrigeration systems are handled through Commercial Refrigeration rather than treated as rejected Air Conditioning enquiry

Technical Competence & Trust

Ecofix Scotland Ltd holds current F-Gas company certification for stationary refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump equipment, covering installation, repair, maintenance/servicing and decommissioning.

Ian Patterson holds:

City & Guilds Level 2 Award in F Gas and ODS Regulations: Category I, covering leak checking, recovery, installation, service and maintenance of relevant equipment; and

City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Hydrocarbon Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump System Installation, Servicing and Maintenance.

Air Conditioning work is undertaken only where it falls within Ecofix Scotland’s current competence, certification, authorisation and advertised service scope.

What to Expect When You Contact Ecofix

For installation enquiries, useful information includes:

Ecofix may request further information before deciding whether a survey, diagnostic visit or other attendance is required.

Does Ecofix install air conditioning in homes?

Yes. Ecofix installs suitable split and multi-split systems for residential properties within the current service scope.

Can air conditioning provide heating as well as cooling?

Many modern split systems provide both heating and cooling. The proposed equipment specification will confirm its functions.

How much is an Air Conditioning diagnostic visit?

A Standard Air-Conditioning Diagnostic Visit is £125 within the core service area.

It includes attendance and up to approximately 60 minutes of initial on-site diagnosis. Additional diagnostic time is £40 per 30 minutes where authorised. Parts and repair work are additional.

How much does Air Conditioning servicing cost?

A Standard Single-Split Service is £120, covering one indoor unit and its associated outdoor unit under normal access conditions.

Does Ecofix install new electrical circuits for AC?

No. Where a new circuit or other electrical work outside Ecofix’s current electrical scope is required, an electrician must be involved.

No. Ecofix does not currently provide guaranteed 24/7 AC attendance.

Does Ecofix work on walk-in chillers and cold rooms?

Yes, suitable work is handled through the Commercial Refrigeration division.
