Ecofix Scotland Service Area

Ecofix Scotland provides trusted technical property services from our base in Carluke across Lanarkshire and selected surrounding areas of Central Scotland.

To keep our service coverage clear and consistent, our normal service area is organised into:

Zone 1 Zone 2 Outside Zones 1 and 2

Your postcode is the main guide to which zone applies. The town and area names are included to make the coverage easier to recognise.

Our zones are based on practical operating experience rather than a fixed mileage or journey-time radius. Travel requirements, population and business density, likely demand and our ability to support customers efficiently are considered together.

Zone 1 — Core Service Area

Zone 1 is our principal operating area and covers the postcode districts in which Ecofix Scotland normally expects to provide its services most efficiently.

Zone 1 postcode districts

ML1–ML11

G33, G34, G69

G71, G72, G73, G74

EH47

Areas within Zone 1 include

Zone 1 covers much of North and South Lanarkshire, including areas such as:

Motherwell;
Wishaw;
Hamilton;
Bellshill;
Coatbridge;
Airdrie;
Shotts;
Carluke;
Larkhall;
Strathaven; and
Lanark.

It also includes relevant areas within the listed Glasgow and Greater Glasgow postcode districts, together with parts of West Lothian covered by EH47.

The postcode district remains the operational reference if there is any uncertainty over an area name.

Zone 2 — Extended Service Area

Zone 2 forms part of our normal wider operating area but generally involves greater travel or lower service density than Zone 1.

Zone 2 postcode districts

ML12

G75

EH27

EH46

EH54

EH55

Areas within Zone 2 include

Zone 2 includes parts of the wider Lanarkshire, Greater Glasgow, West Lothian and western Borders area covered by the postcode districts above.

Examples include areas around Biggar and the wider ML12 district, East Kilbride within G75, Kirknewton, Livingston, West Calder and West Linton-area communities where they fall within the listed postcode districts.

Zone 2 remains part of our normal service-area framework rather than being treated as an exceptional area.

Outside Zones 1 and 2 — By Prior Agreement

Postcodes outside Zone 1 and Zone 2 may still be considered by prior agreement.

This explicitly includes EH45.

Whether we can accept work outside the normal zones depends on the circumstances, including:

the service required;
location and travel requirements;
the likely duration and value of the work;
whether the work is planned or reactive;
existing or multi-site customer relationships;
whether work can sensibly be combined with another visit; and
whether Ecofix Scotland can support the job properly and efficiently.

Please contact us with the postcode and service required before making assumptions about coverage.

Why We Use Service Zones

A simple mileage radius does not always represent how efficiently a technical service business can support an area.

Two locations with similar journey times can have very different practical service demand. Urban areas with greater housing and business density may generate more work and allow journeys to be combined more efficiently than sparsely populated areas at a similar distance.

Our zones therefore take account of practical operating experience as well as travel.

They are intended to provide a clear customer guide while supporting a sustainable, reliable service.

Postcodes Define the Operational Boundary

Town and area names are useful because customers naturally think in terms of places rather than postcode maps.

However, place names can overlap and their boundaries are not always clear.

For that reason:

Town or area name = customer-friendly guide

Postcode district = operational service-area reference

This preserves the established Ecofix website principle that area names help customers recognise coverage while postcode districts provide the definitive operating boundary.

How the Service Area Applies Across Ecofix Scotland

The Zone 1 / Zone 2 / Outside Zones 1 and 2 framework is the normal geographic model across Ecofix Scotland.

A property’s location within one of our service zones does not automatically mean that every Ecofix Scotland service is available for every type of equipment or work.

The relevant technical service must still be:

within our competence and authorisation;
within the advertised service scope;
practical for the particular equipment or job; and
available under the circumstances of the enquiry.

Where a genuine approved service or manufacturer-specific geographic exception applies, that exception takes precedence.

Liebherr and V-ZUG Service-Area Exceptions

Eligible Liebherr and V-ZUG manufacturer-partner work may have wider geographical coverage than the normal Ecofix Scotland service zones, including additional areas of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

That wider coverage applies only to eligible work and should not be assumed to extend automatically to other Ecofix Scotland services.

The exact extended Liebherr/V-ZUG postcode coverage should therefore be confirmed for the individual enquiry rather than inferred from the normal service-area table. The existing Project baseline likewise records wider eligible partner coverage while leaving its exact Glasgow/Edinburgh extent for individual confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which Ecofix Scotland zone I am in?

Check your postcode district against the Zone 1 and Zone 2 lists above.

If it is not listed, the property is normally treated as Outside Zones 1 and 2 — By Prior Agreement.

If you are unsure, send us the full postcode and we can confirm.

Is Zone 2 outside your normal service area?

No.

Zone 2 is part of our normal wider operating area. It simply distinguishes locations with different travel and operational characteristics from our core Zone 1 area.

Can you attend outside Zones 1 and 2?

Possibly.

Work outside the normal zones can be considered by prior agreement where it is commercially and operationally practical.

Is EH45 covered?

EH45 sits outside Zones 1 and 2 under the normal Ecofix Scotland framework.

Work there may still be considered by prior agreement.

Are the zones based on a fixed mileage radius?

No.

Travel time and distance are relevant, but they are not the only considerations. Population and business density, likely demand and operational efficiency are also taken into account.

Do all Ecofix Scotland services use these zones?

The geographic framework is company-wide.

Individual services still have their own technical scope and may occasionally have an approved geographical exception where there is a genuine operational or manufacturer-specific reason.

Do you cover Glasgow?

Several Glasgow and Greater Glasgow postcode districts fall within Zone 1 or Zone 2.

Other Glasgow enquiries may still be considered by prior agreement, while eligible Liebherr and V-ZUG work may have wider manufacturer-partner coverage.

Do you cover Edinburgh?

The normal company-wide zones include selected postcode districts towards West Lothian and the Edinburgh fringe.

Other Edinburgh enquiries are normally outside Zones 1 and 2 unless an approved exception applies. Eligible Liebherr and V-ZUG work may have wider coverage.
