A routine service is preventative maintenance for a boiler that is being serviced rather than booked because of a known active fault. Where a fault is already known, the boiler-repair/fault-diagnosis service is normally the correct starting point.

The standard service price covers the agreed routine boiler service under normal conditions. Parts, repair work and materially extended diagnostic work are additional where required and authorised.
What a Routine Boiler Service Is For
Routine servicing is intended to assess and maintain the boiler in accordance with the applicable appliance, manufacturer and gas-safety requirements, identify relevant defects or concerns and record the work actually completed.
The exact checks depend on the appliance, its installation, manufacturer requirements, accessibility and operating conditions. Ecofix does not publish a generic checklist that implies every boiler receives an identical sequence regardless of design.
If a Fault Is Found During Servicing
If the service identifies an active fault or work beyond the agreed routine-service scope, the finding will be explained.
Where safe, authorised and practical, suitable additional work may be completed during the visit. Additional Gas engineering time is £45 per 30 minutes, and parts are additional.
If a separate return attendance is required after diagnosis, Ecofix will confirm the applicable postcode-based return-attendance price before arranging the visit.
Known Fault? Book Diagnosis Instead
If the boiler is already locking out, losing pressure, producing no heating or hot water, showing repeated error codes or otherwise malfunctioning, please tell us when enquiring. The normal booking is fault diagnosis rather than using the routine-service price as a repair route.

Ecofix records the service work, findings, limitations and any recommended next action. A routine service is not a certificate that the boiler or heating system is free from every hidden or developing fault and it cannot guarantee future fault-free operation.
Where you want us to, Ecofix can support an annual service reminder based on the previous service date. A reminder is not an automatic booking.

Is repair work included in the boiler-service price?
No. The standard price is for the routine service. If repair or extended diagnostic work is needed, Ecofix explains the finding and the additional cost before proceeding wherever reasonably practicable.
Does a boiler service guarantee that the boiler will not break down?
No. A routine service records the work and condition found at that visit; it is not a guarantee against unrelated or developing future faults.
Can a landlord boiler service and gas safety check be done together?
Yes. A combined boiler-service + Landlord Gas Safety Record package is available. Both services are completed for their separate purposes rather than treating one shortened procedure as both.
